Y's are for people of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes. No one is turned away for inability to pay. YMCA's strength is in the people they bring together.
Because all communities have different needs, all YMCA's are different. A YMCA in your community may offer child care or teen leadership clubs. A Y in the next town may have swimming lessons or drawing classes. Every Y makes its own decisions on what programs to offer and how to operate.
The YMCA Cape Cod is a valuable community resource for all people regardless of age, gender, religion or economic level. We welcome all people to our many diverse classes, programs and special events held throughout Cape Cod.
Our main facility is located on Route 132 in West Barnstable. This site features 2 swimming pools, a fitness center, cardio room, child care classes, a large multi-purpose room, outdoor basketball and foursquare court, and our business offices. Programs held here range from swimming lessons for infants to fitness programs for older adults.
Our Camp Lyndon Center in Sandwich is a beautiful location that is used for summer day camp as well as many year-round programs for youth, teens and adults, including after school enrichment programs and our Lorusso Child Care Center.
The YMCA Cape Cod, in partnership with the Swift Memorial United Methodist Church, is pleased to provide youth, adult and senior programming to the surrounding Sagamore community at the Swift Activity Center. Our newest location is at the Diabetes Education Center of Cape Cod (DECCC) in Dennis. Thanks to a partnership with DECCC we are working together to help Cape residents to learn about, prevent and/or manage diabetes. We are soon to offer classes specifically for people with diabetes. In addition to our four locations, we offer satellite fitness, child care and aquatics programs in swimming pools, community centers and churches throughout Cape Cod. Satellite child care centers include YMCA Lorusso Center in Sandwich, and YMCA Child Care at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Harwich.
