The YMCA Cape Cod offers two traditional Summer Day Camp experiences, including arts and crafts, sports, team-building activities, drama, nature hikes, and swim lessons. Each camp offers its own unique opportunities for learning and adventure. Our staff are motivated, experienced and ready to give your child a summer camp experience they are sure to treasure for years to come.

For over 100 years YMCAs have been providing enriching camp experiences for kids in America. We know how to give children a summer filled with opportunities to have fun, make friends, explore new interests, and learn about their world. Camp 132 Fun

Camp 132 will spend a part of their day at our Camp Lyndon Facility enjoying the beautiful 79 acres and wonderful play spaces. Our focus on small group activities and recreational team-building allows for an interpersonal program with a strong sense of community at its foundation. Camp 132's dedicated staff assists each child in the development of socialization skills, self-respect and community awareness.

Campers have the opportunity to experience a wide variety of activities throughout the week including: hiking, arts & crafts, sports, nature and drama. We also include instructional and recreational swimming four days a week. As always, the YMCA includes curriculum centering on the four character values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring. Campers can choose to participate in Family Nights or Overnights where we have a fire, toast marshmallows and tell stories. To top it off, we travel once a week to various destinations like water-parks and the Cape Cod National Seashore! Come see why we call Camp 132 “The Best Camp In The World!”

Overnights
Camp 132 - Ages 7 to 10
Camp 132 Unit 2 and 3 campers can spend an overnight at camp and participate in special activities such as: campfires, tent camping, swimming and more. Our overnight fee includes dinner, evening snack, light breakfast and lunch. Overnights are Thursdays on weeks 1, 3, 5 & 7. Overnights are an additional fee of $30 per night, per camper. Permission slips will be available the week of each overnight.

*In the event of inclement weather, Overnights may be cancelled and rescheduled if possible.

Camp 132 Fun

Free Family Fun Nights At Camp 132:
Wednesdays 6:00 - 8:00PM, July 9 (Week 2) & August 6 (Week 6)
Camp 132 campers and their families are invited to join our Family Fun Nights at camp. These evenings include a sample of the camp activities, a light barbecue dinner and family open swim. Campers may bring 3 guests, including 1 adult.

Unit Breakdowns
Unit 1: Ages 5-6 * must be 5 by 6/1/08
Unit 2: Ages 7-8
Unit 3: Ages 9-10

Camp Hours of Operation:
Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 4:00PM
Drop-off begins at 8:45AM. Earlier drop-offs and late pick-ups require Extended Care registration. Additional fees apply.

Camp Lyndon was founded in the spirit of family over 30 years ago. Named in memory of Lyndon Lorusso, Camp Lyndon has served as the center of many important YMCA programs for youth and families. Today Camp Lyndon helps the YMCA Cape Cod staff fulfill their mission to build strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Occupying 79 acres of pine woods with a freshwater lake front, Camp Lyndon offers a unique setting for a variety of traditional summer day camp activities.

Camp Lyndon Fun

Way In The Woods:
Ages 4 and 5 (by June 1, 2008)

The Way in the Woods program offers pre-schoolers their own outdoor camping experience. YMCA trained staff work at a 1:5 ratio with campers in and around Camp Lyndon's great outdoors.

Explorers:
Ages 6 to 7 (by June 1, 2008)

Through daily experiences and activities, the Explorer Program encourages campers to accept and demonstrate caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in everything they do. These experiences will include songs, skits, arts and crafts, instructional and recreational swims, archery and nature skills, just to name a few.

Pioneers:
Ages 8 to 9 (by June 1, 2008)

Our Pioneers take our two-week camp program a step further by spending more time in a wider range of camp activities. Campers are encouraged to set new physical and learning goals and to explore new abilities and qualities in themselves. Camp Overnights are also part of the Pioneer experience.

Camp Lyndon Fun

Voyagers:
Ages 10 to 11 (by June 1, 2008)

Voyagers develop a sense of community, teamwork and ownership through individual and team challenges. Through these efforts we hope to provide a solid footing for the pre-teen years ahead. We give Voyagers the opportunity to select special-interest activities and encourage them to learn and demonstrate specific program-related skills.

Challenge Camp:
Ages 12 to 15 (by June 1, 2008)

Challenge Camp offers both adventure and unique opportunities during the camp day. Campers develop leadership skills and learn how to work within a group of diverse views and abilities. We challenge our campers through our ropes course and adventure-based programs. These activities blend traditional day camping with additional opportunities for individual and group development and growth.

CIT (Counselor-In-Training)
Ages 14 & 15 by June 1, 2008


The Counselor-In-Training program meets the unique needs of today's teens. CITs participate in regular leadership training sessions with a trained YMCA supervisor which compliment their camp leadership responsibilities. Members of this group develop close friendships as they explore communications, group work, problem-solving, risk taking, decision-making, and the value of diverse perspectives. CITs are given the opportunity to participate in several voluntary community service projects throughout the summer.

Camp Lyndon Fun CITs must apply, be interviewed and accepted before registering. All interested campers should call to schedule an interview at 508-428-9251. A CIT application can be downloaded at www.ymcacapecod.org. Applications must be accompanied by a registration form.

Camp Lyndon Fun

Free Family Fun Nights At Camp Lyndon
Thursdays 6:00 - 8:00PM: July 19, August 2 & 23, 2008

All children, parents, siblings, grandparents and friends are invited to join our Family Fun Nights at camp. Sample activities from our program areas include: archery, boating, ropes course, drama, a barbecue, and of course a campfire with s'mores.

Overnights:
Pioneer, Voyager and Challenge campers have the opportunity to spend an overnight at camp. Activities may include campfires, night hikes, tent camping, and other special events. Our Overnight fee includes dinner, s'mores, breakfast and a lunch. Overnights generally occur the second Thursday night of each 2 week session. Permission slips will be sent home weekly. There is an additional fee of $25 per overnight. Any changes in overnight schedules will be sent home in writing during the session.

4th Of July Family Day:
Please note: no camp on Friday, July 4th, Independence Day

Mini Camp 1 (6/23-6/27) Core Values Focus = Caring & Honesty

This week is designed to open and welcome the new camp season. Together, campers and staff will participate in painting a "mural of rights" for all camp visitors! Groups will also make flags for a special celebration parade and schedule extra playtime at all of Camp Lyndon's famous activity areas!

Mini Camp 2 (8/25-8/29) Core Values Focus = Respect & Responsibility

This week's focus pays special attention to the impact and responsibilies of having summer outdoor fun. Using our camp environment as the backdrop, teaching moments will include environmental rehabilitation projects, trash clean up and recycling philosophies. These diverse projects will be fun, celebratory and age appropriate so that all campers can learn the responsibility and joy of preserving natural spaces. Hey toddlers, here's your chance to be at camp! Younger siblings of registered campers are invited to join us (with your parent or guardian) to explore fun camp activities and enjoy a light snack.

Gram & Gramp Camp:
12:00Noon - 2:00PM: July 17, & August 14

All grandparents of registered campers are welcome to join us for our newly created Gram & Gramp Camp. Participants will have an opportunity to sample one of our program areas with their grandchildren and enjoy a barbecue on the shore of beautiful Lawrence Pond.
