TEEN CLASSES
YMCA Cape Cod tween and teen clubs,
sports, dance, discovery and challenge
programs provide a safe haven and cooperative-learning experiences in a positive
healthy environment.
VACATION ADVENTURE CLUB
At YMCA Camp Lyndon Center in Sandwich.
Age 9 to 15 years.
Adventure, learning and discovery are what we have planned for
your child. Daily field trips will be combined with traditional camp
activities with an educational and recreational focus. Past trips
included rock climbing at Carabiners, mini golf, bowling, and much

STRENGTH TRAINING 
Certification Course.
Free program for youth/teen members
ages 12 and up - register upstairs at the
fitness desk for more information or call
508-362-6500 x320. Course includes four
classes that introduce proper machine
usage, cardio programs and strength
training techniques. Members must be 14
years old and have completed this course
in order to work out in the fitness center
without supervision. Twelve and 13 year
olds who have completed this course may
use the fitness center when accompanied
by an adult.
PILATES Ages 13 to 17 years.
Traditional mat class presented by Michael
Gish of Traditional Pilates of Cape Cod.
This hour-long class focuses on breathing,
technique and postures created by Joe
Pilates.
TEEN XERGAMES 
Ages 10 to 14 years, All Fitness
Levels.
Looking for a fun way to workout with
friends? Come and experence the new
Sport Wall and Xerdance System and
take part in a brain and body fitness
program. Follow along with computer
choreographed dance routines that
help to increase core strength, balance
and coordination. Mix in some sport
wall training to improve cardio-vascular
fitness, speed agility, spatial awareness
and reaction time. Join in the fun ...
This workout is an all new experience!
KARATE
Age 7 yrs. and up. Tang Soo Do Karate offers a well-rounded way to better yourself physically and mentally. It also helps build strength and flexibility, confidence, discipline and control.

YSL FISH 
Main Pool. Intermediate work on refining a front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke, elementary backstroke and
sidestroke.
YSL FLYINGFISH
Main Pool. For the advanced swimmer,
class builds increased efficiency and
endurance in the six basic strokes with
an introduction to flip turns, starts and
pullouts.
YSL SHARK
Main Pool. The
advanced swimmer refines his/her strokes
and learns the concepts of competitive
swimming while building endurance.

YSL PORPOISE
Age 10 years and up
The accomplished swimmer ventures
into character development and leadership training in this return of an oldie but
a goodie program. Students will receive
a 45-minute instructional session followed by a 30-minute assistant teaching
session. Participants will refine their
own abilities as well as learn how to assist teaching swim lessons, all the while
reinforcing the YMCA's core values of
Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
PRIVATE SWIMMING LESSONS
Age 3 years and up
Small or Main pool by arrangement. Private Swimming Lessons are an optimal
way to learn how to swim. Details and

MAKO SWIM TEAM
Competitive Age Group Swimming for
ages 6 to 18
The Mako Swim Team offers five different
team levels: Novice, Age Group, Junior, Senior and National. The Y Mako Swim
Team competes in both YMCA and USA
Swimming to develop swimmers to their
fullest potential through use of proper stroke
technique, challenging workouts, and a
strong team atmosphere. The program
incorporates discipline, character development, skills, training, and endurance swimming as competitors advance through the
progressive level program.

Swimmers interested in our Novice program must be able to swim freestyle and
backstroke. In order to be a part of the
Team, swimmers must be at least 6 years
old and able to exhibit good swimming
skills and a variety of competitive techniques. Maturity, conditioning and ability
will help determine a swimmers level.
